The Templeton Agricultural Commission voted to authorize its chair to pursue grant funding for the community garden and farmers market.
Other Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026
TEMPLETON — The Templeton Agricultural Commission voted to authorize its chair to pursue grant funding for the community garden and farmers market. Chair Carrie Noveck won a 3-0 roll-call vote, with members Ashley, Andre and Mr. Pease in favor, to seek a pollinator-habitat grant and a $500 First Pioneer Farm Credit award for market outreach.
Noveck said the commission still has "no budget" and must resolve how any award would flow through the town treasurer. A guest identified as Kenneth McClary told the board that water commissioners agreed to waive water and sewer charges for the garden's use of a senior-center spigot from May through September. Members reported a strong 2026 season, with one farmer calling it "one of the best peach crops that we've ever had."
