Templeton's Conservation Commission cleared a Valley View Farm event tent and moved to fix a dam-blocked drain pipe. Members voted unanimously to issue a negative determination for owner Matt LeClerc's planned 40-by-80-foot seasonal tent and walkway at 179 Berry Road, with engineer Justin LeClaire of McCarty Engineering presenting the plan. Conservation Agent Jessica Case reported Central Massachusetts drought conditions worsened to "a level two significant drought" effective May 8, and said a beaver dam the size of "three king-size mattresses" had blocked the spillway at the privately owned Depot Pond Dam, prompting emergency state and town repair work near Baldwinville Center.
The commission also continued hearings for the Colebrook Snowmobile Club and a disputed wetland delineation by New England Environmental Design, and weighed recommending removal of member Amanda Suzzi after eight straight absences.
