TEMPLETON — The Templeton Conservation Commission voted to support holding a conservation restriction on about 26 acres of Henshaw Road farmland pursued by the North County Land Trust, ahead of a July 13 state grant deadline. Director of Conservation and Climate Anna Wilkins told the board the land trust would purchase the property outright and asked the commission to serve as a secondary restriction holder, saying "we would want public access" for hunting, fishing and farming uses. The vote passed 3-0 with member Christof Chartier abstaining as a neighbor of the Henshaw family.
Separately, the commission voted 3-1 to recommend the Select Board remove member Amanda Suzzi after Conservation Agent Jessica Case said Suzzi had missed meetings for over eight months and never responded to outreach, noting "we haven't heard from her." Chair George Andrews cast the dissenting vote. The board also approved a shed at 186 South Road, a certificate of compliance for 50 Shore Drive, a two-year pump-station extension, and a negative determination for a Walnut Street garage.
