TEMPLETON — The Templeton Select Board and Advisory Committee approved five year-end budget transfers totaling $74,090.70 to balance town accounts before fiscal 2026 closes. Select Board members Robert May, Timothy Toth, Candace Graves and Jeffrey Bennett voted yes on each transfer, including $55,000 moved to cover payroll for Town Administrator James Ryan and Executive Assistant Jill Blood while Ryan was on vacation. The town accountant, filling in for Ryan, said "we only have one full payroll and two individual days of payroll left to hit FY26." A $4,990.70 transfer covered retroactive pay tied to a collective bargaining agreement for highway and snow-and-ice staff.
Advisory Committee members, identified only as Reese and Liz, concurred unanimously on every transfer under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 44, Section 33B.
