Planning Board · Meeting of June 9, 2026
TEMPLETON — The Templeton Planning Board approved a lot-line split at 179 Berry Road and opened discussion on raising the town's dead-end street cap. Members voted unanimously to endorse an Approval Not Required plan dividing the Clark family's house, butcher shop and farmland into separate lots, presented by engineer Justin of McCarty Engineering. The board also reappointed Charles Carroll to the Open Space Committee and Dennis Rich to the Community Preservation Committee, and kept its current slate of officers, with Michael Caruso identified as clerk.
Chair Kirk Moschetti pushed to revisit the town's 800-foot dead-end street limit, saying it is "jacking the price" of homes by making longer roads too costly to build. Director of Development Services Laurie Wiita agreed to research how other towns handle dead-end streets, shared driveways and drive-through windows for food. The board also backed, without a vote, a letter supporting the Templeton Water Department's grant application to extend a water main down Patriots Road.
The board's next meeting, June 23, includes a special permit hearing on the same Berry Road property.
